This topic in a nutshell - what you need to know

Augmented Reality is a new focus for tech players around the world - large and small businesses alike. Google is making it easier for apps to offer different kinds of blur effects, bokeh options, use the data to create 3D images and support AR photography use-cases. Lockheed Martin has expanded their use of innovative augmented reality technology to its Aeronautics, Missiles and Fire Control, and Rotary and Mission Systems. A new pair of swim goggles with AR display, offered by a startup Form, has also become the first wearable device that allows users to track their key swimming stats in real-time, without stopping to look at their wrist.

Before you go to the swimming pool and before leaving your phone in the locker or on the poolside, you have to select which stats you would like to see while swimming, for the swim screen, the turn screen, and the rest screen. (See the app screen shot in the Form aap paragraph down below) Accuracy: I could not really test the accuracy of the speed/distance data collected during my swim, I know that the three times the headset did not detect my turn, it skipped to display my last lap timing, keep the previous one on screen, and the data was probably not saved in my swim dashboard in the application.

SP: When the quality department is looking to verify component placement in assembly, AR is a very quick and easy way to do that and also when they verify the work instruction in advance, it's much quicker to do that through AR than to try to verify from traditional methods. How does the time to create AR content compare to the time it would take to create more traditional training materials or instructions? SM: If you think about creating traditional work construction, essentially you're taking an idea, or a set of process steps, that have been invented in the brain of a mechanical engineer and then you're going through a translation process to put them into words and images, and in Lockheed's case special Mylar templates to just perform any instruction.

But before I get to why Samsung killed the classic audio port on the Note 10, I'd like to clarify that the new phone isn't a single device, but two: a 6.3-inch Note 10 and 6.8-inch Note 10+. Samsung calls this an "Infinity-O" display. So what's Samsung's reason? iPhones, Pixels, and OnePlus phones don't have them, so there's no real reason for them here, either. Interestingly, Samsung's including a pair of AKG wired USB-C earbuds in the Note 10 box, but no dongle. They're Samsung's latest phones and you better believe they're packing all the performance. Either way, both Note 10s are top-notch phones.
